Affix

An affix is an element that isn't a word on it's own. They are added to a words.

A prefix is an affix placed at the beginning of a word.

A suffix is an affix placed at the ending of a word.

An infix is an affix placed somewhere inside the word. Esperanto has a very large number of infixes.
