Preposition

Prepositions are used to link two words together.

Ablative Case

Some languages, such as Latin 'encode' prepositions using noun inflection and the ablative case. Therefore, to show, from, with, or in, Latin changes the ending of the noun rather than having a separate word.

For example :

  • templum - a temple (nominative case)
  • templo - from, with, or in a temple (ablative case)
